Marblehead Softball Headers Start the Season with a Swim

After one full week of Marblehead Youth softball in the books the "Header's" (one of the Marblehead Senior teams)  are off to a great start.  After their first win Tuesday over Swampscott the girls took a celebratory swim in 50 degree water at Devereux Beach.  The team played a strong game but had a tough loss on Thursday, 4 –3 against Salem.  The Headers finished a demanding three game first week with a victory over the Magician's on Sunday.  All in all, the Header's produced 41 runs of offense in their first three games.  Pitching by Frankie Simon and McKenzie Joyce has been incredible!  Catchers Meghan Tierney and Montana Joyce have thrown down runners and had great efforts behind the plate.  Anastasia Vainas started the season with three home runs in the team's first three games.  Anna Cloutman is absolutely crushing the ball and leads off our lineup.  Defensively; Bellie Jacobs, Marrisa Massaro, Sara Bornstein, Delia Smith and Justy Needle have had fantastic heads up plays at third, short and second.  Marina Uhrich stepped up as coach and keeps our book and leads our cheering section!
