Then we awoke to rain. And I felt a little bummed.
On this rainy day, Bodhi and I watched the Desert episode on Human Planet, where they documented the struggle of many peoples to find water in the desert. Rain and water are literally a matter of life and death. The showed the connection between rain, food, life.
As I looked out my window, I reframed my attitude toward rain. I was grateful that it was here and that I have the luxury of turning on a spigot anytime I want for water. I appreciated that I can go to the grocery store anytime I want and have a large selection of food that I don’t need to harvest or tend.
Rain. Sustainer of life.
Rain. A reminder to be so mindful of how I spend each day. There might not be another one like it.
