Caller Reports Suspicious Truck with Occupants Possibly Stealing Bicycles

At 8:24 a.m., a DPW dump truck became stuck in the sand on Ocean Avenue. A tow truck was needed to remove it.

At 10:09 a.m., a woman reported a white pickup in the area had bicycles in the bed and it appeared the truck’s occupants were checking garages for bicycles. She called because she had friends whose bikes were stolen recently. Police were unable to locate the suspect vehicle.

At 2:11 p.m., a person reported a lost or stolen iPhone that the “Find My iPhone” app showed to be moving in the area of Leggs Hill Road and Canterbury. An officer attempted to locate the phone based on the app, but had no luck. A short time later, the caller reported the phone had been located.

At 5:16 p.m., a person called and said he wanted his girlfriend out of his house by the time he got home. Police instructed him to contact police when he arrived home and an officer would meet him.

At 6 p.m., a caller reported possible marijuana and alcohol activity in the vehicle the caller was following. The caller’s car parted ways from the other car near the high school and police were unable to locate the suspect vehicle.
