Coleman, 9, Medals at NE Swim Championships

Marblehead's young Brian Coleman is now the 10th fastest nine-year-old in the 50 yard backstroke in New England after his race this past weekend in Vermont.

The Jewish Community Center of the North Shore Sea Serpent Swim Team is raking in more medals, with nine-year-old Brian Coleman of Marblehead making a big splash at the New England Swimming 12 & Under Championships in White River Junction, Vt.

Coleman is now the 10th fastest nine-year-old boy in the 50 yard backstroke in all New England after his performance last weekend, which also earns him a mention in New England Swimming Magazine.

The Sea Serpents head to the JCC Championships in Springfield on March 17.

“Our young swimmers are so dedicated and driven,” said JCC Aquatics Director Ashley Vieira. “They make me proud at every practice, every event.”

The Sea Serpents spring session begins March 18. Kids ages 6-16 are welcome.

“We provide a fun environment that emphasizes the importance of teamwork and sportsmanship,” Vieira said.
