Young Man Overdoses on Heroin

Tuesday, May 21

  • At 6:31 p.m., police received a call from a Warwick Terrace resident who said the way vehicles were parked prevented emergency vehicles from passing.
  • A 7:44 p.m., a smoking transformer was reported on Ocean Avenue after a lightning strike. Power was restored to the Neck.

Wednesday, May 22

  • At 10:21 a.m., a minor accident was reported on Atlantic Avenue.
  • At 12:48 a.m., a walk-in to the police station reported he was rear-ended while driving at Pleasant and Smith.
  • At 2:19 a.m., a suspicious male was reported in the woods by the country club at West Road.
  • At 2:44 p.m., a woman walked in to the station and reported a lost wallet. The wallet was turned in to the officer working a detail in the area where the woman lost it, at Pleasant and School. The owner was notified that the wallet was found.
  • At 3:19 p.m., police received a call from the Post Office about two kids out on the front wall who were advised about trespassing the day before. 
  • At 7:18 p.m., a jogger found a wallet at West Shore Drive and Waterside Road. The wallet was returned to the owner.
  • At 9:36 p.m., a domestic disturbance was reported on Countryside Lane.

  • At 1:51 p.m., police responded to a call about a semi-conscious man in his 20s on the back steps of the Little Theater. The officer in charge responded and the man on the steps was transported to Salem Hospital. The log item was listed as a heroin overdose.
  • At 4:10 p.m., a neighbor dispute was reported on Baldwin Road.
