It’s a holiday weekend, and sitting at a desk taking notes is the last thing on students’ minds. But the start of the new school year will be here before you know it, and below are some important 2015-16 dates for Marblehead Public Schools.

- Sept. 1 Faculty Professional Development Day
- Sept. 2 & 3 Students’1st & 2nd Day
- Sept. 4 No School
- Sept. 7 Labor Day-no school
- Sept 10 Veterans Middle School open house
- Sept. 14 & 15 Rosh Hashanah – no school
- Sept 17 Glover, Bell, Coffin and Gerry open houses
- Sept 21 Village School open house
- Sept. 23 Yom Kippur-no school
- Oct. 12 Columbus Day-no school
- Oct. 13 Prof. Dev. Day-no school
- Nov. 11 Veterans Day-no school
- Nov. 26 & 27 Thanksgiving Recess-no school
