4. Board of Selectmen Early Friday Meeting: Speaking of civic meetings, the Selectmen have one early Friday I figured I'd highlight it today, since tomorrow will be almost too late. At 8:15 a.m. on Friday, Selectmen are scheduled to meet at Abbot Hall. The agenda includes votes to open the warrant for this year's special election and a public hearing on the VFW's liquor license.

5. Magicians in Action: The rain might postpone Marblehead High sports today, but if not, the schedule has a home match for girls tennis against Salem and a home track meet versus Winthrop. Here are the details.
