Driver Nearly Flies Off Marblehead Causeway

MARBLEHEAD, MA — A drive to Marblehead Neck Monday morning nearly ended with a splash into the Atlantic Ocean for a local woman. Police said the Beverly resident was driving on Ocean Avenue on the causeway to the neck when she jumped the curb. Her red Saturn sedan spun out and ended up suspended on the causeway wall.

"Thankfully the wall stopped her from going over the edge," police said in a statement. The woman was not hurt.

"(The driver) is not sure what happened and officers are interviewing a witness to piece this together," police said in a statement.
