Latest Marblehead police log: complaints about duck hunters, a hit-and-run crash, and a missing student.

MARBLEHEAD, MA — The following are excerpts from the Marblehead police log. Suspects are presumed innocent.

Sun., Nov. 22

  • 12:03 p.m. A caller reported a Toyota Corolla struck a black sport utility vehicle on Atlantic Avenue then fled the scene. No injuries were reported. Police launched in investigation to locate the suspect driver.

  • 7:10 a.m. A caller complained about people duck hunting from a boat near Brown's Island. Police determined the hunters didn't commit any violations.
  • 1:20 p.m. Police were called to a school facility on Pleasant Street for a report of a missing student who walked out of the building and may be in the woods. Staff soon found the student near the school.

Tue., Nov. 22

  • 6:28 a.m. A Crowninshield Road resident called police about duck hunters who were shooting too close to a dwelling.
