NATIONAL TOURING ARTISTS Joe Jencks, Greg Greenway, and Pat Wictor have made their mark as veteran singer-songwriters, but Brother Sun is no songwriter’s round. The trio’s harmonies, as much as their lyrics, tell what they are about: warm as a campfire, stirring as a gospel church, rousing as a call to arms. Fusing folk, Americana, blues, pop, jazz, rock, and a cappella singing, Brother Sun is an explosion of musical diversity and harmony, in the finest of male singing traditions. They will be celebrating the release of their new CD at this show.
Pat Wictor first burst on the folk and acoustic scene as an innovative slide guitarist known for doing fresh and memorable versions of traditional and contemporary songs. He’s become a well-regarded singer and songwriter, writing material grounded in the rural country, gospel, and blues traditions of our nation.
Joe Jencks is an international touring performer, songwriter, entertainer, and educator. He is noted for his unique merging of musical beauty, social consciousness, and spiritual exploration. Jencks weaves a diverse web of stories with brilliant musical skill, ensnaring even the most rigid of hearts, inviting them to open.

A rare combination of instrumental expertise, a soulful and moving singer, powerful poet, and sparkling entertainer, Greg Greenway is one of those difficult-to-categorize performers who have found a home in the modern acoustic genre. Musically, he draws inspiration from all over the map-gospel, rock, blues, Jazz, and world music. But his center is in the singer/songwriter tradition that traces it roots all the way back to the social awareness of Woody Guthrie.
The response to Brother Sun has been tremendous. After main stage performances with standing ovations at both Kerrville and Falcon Ridge Folk Festivals in 2011 and sold out concerts throughout the US, this past summer they earned not only return invitations to Kerrville and Falcon Ridge but also invitations to Old Songs Festival, Philadelphia Folk Festival and Kerrville Wine & Music Festival. The trio’s self-titled debut CD debuted at Number 2 at the Folk DJ Charts. It stayed on the charts for eight months.
