On May 9th at 5 pm, jaws will drop and eyes will bulge in the Virginia A. Carten Gallery of the Marblehead Abbot Public Library. Reading comic book may not be everyone’s idea of fun, but the expressive, pop art, comic theme of this art show is sure to draw you in. The Class of 2013 has worked diligently through four years of studio art classes, and is pleased to show the community their greatest works of art at the Senior Art Show.
Thanks to Patricia Rogers, the director of the Marblehead Abbot Public Library, and Pascale Queval, head of Marblehead High School’s art department, May 9th 2013 will mark the 5th year of hard work and energy put forth by the Senior Art Show project. The Marblehead High School and the Abbot Public Library partnership is responsible for numerous local successes and is sure to put forth an excellent display and reception.
Two Marblehead High School seniors, Sarah Katz and Isabella Le Bon, have decided to take on the planning of 2013’s Senior Art Show as their senior project. During senior project, high school seniors do not attend regular classes; they instead explore opportunities to get involved outside of school. Both students have followed Marblehead High School’s rigorous art curriculum and are excited to work with Pascale Queval and Patricia Rogers to make the Senior Art Show a success.

Whether you prefer to explore depth and meaning of a painting, or realistic expressions through sculptures, the Class of 2013 guarantees a fabulous time at the Senior Art Show. A variety of art will be displayed, including photography, textile, video production, drawings, and musical performances. And, of course, refreshments will accompany the art pieces as well. Work will be on display until Friday, May 30th. Come for a fun-filled, art adventure!
