Ringing the Bells on Independence Day

Follow the Sons of the American Revolution who will march to St. Michael's Church just before 12 noon. Help them ring the Paul Revere Bell for 30 minutes. St. Michael's bell was recast by Paul Revere & Sons in 1818.  The first bell was cracked when Marblehead patriots stormed the church in July 1776 to celebrate the Declaration of Independence.

You can also help at 7:30 am - 8:00 am and 6:00 pm - 6:30 pm.

After ringing the bell, stick around for a short organ recital, view Marblehead Arts Festival sculpture and mixed media and pick up a heavenly St. Michael's lobster roll, hot dog, chowder and more under the tent on the lawn. All lobster lunch proceeds support local and world charities.
