Walking Tour about the 1600s in Marblehead & Essex County

A walking tour about the 1600s in Marblehead & Essex County will be held on Saturday, Sept. 3, 10 am to noon,   part of a regional program called  “17th-Century Saturdays”  The educational tour starts near Doliber’s Cove,  in the early 1600s,  and ends at Franklin Street in the 17-teens,  covering areas of the town’s earliest settlement at the end of the Marblehead peninsula. Meet at the corner of Beacon & Norman St.

The weather should be beautiful, unlike last weekend,  so it will be an enjoyable way to experience some of Marblehead’s beauty while hearing about its early past –
though storms were certainly something to cope with back then as well.  The cost is $5 per person;  children are free.  Those who wish can request that their admission be donated to the town’s first church for its 375th anniversary. Reservations are not required.
