Extra Police Patrols Geared Toward Bus Safety
Police and traffic supervisors are ready for the start of school.

It’s a ig day for most of Marblehead’s students today with the start of school.
With the start of school, Marblehead police are reminding drivers to stop for school buses.
Staff at the schools have been working hard to get everything ready for the students return, according to police. The Recreation & Parks Department have also been working on the grounds to make all the schools look their best.

Last week, the police department prepared for the start of the school year with the Traffic Supervisors (aka crossing guards) and lining up extra officers to have on patrol.
“One thing we forgot to mention is the reminder to please stop for school buses with their red lights flashing - its the law and we all must stop for the bus,” the police department stated on its Facebook page “Each year, the School Department supplies us with the list of all bus stops and the times for pickup and drop off.”

Marked and unmarked patrols will be periodically shadowing the buses and/or stationed near bus stops to help ensure the safety of the students.
