Getting To Know cPrime
Dana Appel Young, a local certified health coach, is bringing the next evolution in training and athletics to Marblehead, and Patch has the scoop.
I have recently been turned on to a growing trend in the world of training and athletics called cPrime. Athletes such as Heisman Trophy winning QB Tim Tebow, all-star Basketball player Dwight Howard and Red Sox players Clay Buckholtz and Mike Cameron, as well as celebrities like Jane Fonda, Chazz Palminteri, and Christian Slater have been spotted sporting cPRIME bracelets, but the question is what are they and what can they do?
These polyurethane wristbands, molded from surgical grade polyurethane with a magnetic locking clip, are embedded with a cPRIME activated substrate that is being proven to improve strength, balance, flexibility, and endurance.
As an avid runner and someone who is getting back into the gym after far too long of a hiatus, I was very intrigued to learn about this new phenomenon.

The cPrime website states, "every biochemical event in the human body is preceded by an exchange of electrons which occurs at the microscopic level. Peak performance of the human body relies on a coordinated and ordered progression of these microscopic electrical events."
The patent-pending technology in these cPrime wristbands claims to "act as a bio-antenna, altering the way your body interacts with its electromagnetic environment, which may help to balance and optimize biological responses."

Now I know what you are thinking… Prove it. And that is just what is being done.
In the fall of 2009, a study was conducted in California by three qualified investigators, who together represent over 65 years of clinical experience. The 100-subject study, which included participants aged 6 to 71 (average age 38) with 39 women and 61 men, was based on protocols used worldwide to assess people's strength, balance, and flexibility.
The cPrime Performance Study came to find that when wearing a wristband participants experienced 20-60% improvement in strength, up to 15% improvement in flexibility, 18-100% improvement in eyes-open balance and 55-200% improvement in the more challenging eyes-closed balance test
I was lucky enough to test one of these wristbands out for myself when I met with health coach Dana Appel Young.
Appel Young, the professional behind cPrime in our area, earned her health coach certification from the Institute of Integrative Nutrition in NYC and founded NEW DAY here in Marblehead. NEW DAY represents Appel-Young's personal approach to balancing nutrition, fitness, and wellness management in everyday life.
"I offer a unique style of personal health coaching and training that will help you lose weight, rev up your metabolism and feel stronger and more energized every day," says Appel Young.
"I can recommend and personalize weight loss programs while also offering the latest in meal replacement shakes, natural health supplements, weight loss and anti-aging products," she continued.
She also offers specialized fitness routines to help you achieve personal goals, as well as wellness coaching that can help reduce your stress levels.
After only a couple months working out with cPrime, Appel Young lauds the effects of this new technology.
"The changes I have seen with my workouts are amazing. Running longer, lifting more weight and just feeling overall stronger in the gym," she said. "I am sharing the product with my clients and they are seeing just how amazing this bracelet is as well."
Appel Young is a certified cPrime distributor and can be contacted either through her NEW DAY website, or on her cPrime distribution site.
I recommend this new technology to anyone who wants to improve the way they workout, or just take on daily tasks with less physical assertion.
