Latin may be called a dead language, but things were pretty lively at Marblehead High School's Latin Day on Friday!
Students took turns jousting in a giant, inflatable arena set up on the football field. Latin teacher Matt Alling crowned each victor with the traditional laurel wreath, just as in ancient times.
Alas, after the competition, no wine for the weary. Students celebrated with a more modern feast -- pizza and cake!
