Dianna Daly has woven a career in textiles, painting, yoga, performance art and culinary art. Of her watercolors, she says “Creating with watercolor for me is like life; a constant exploration in achieving balance between control and going with the flow. It is observing, having courage, patience and observing again, and then, knowing when you are done and ready to begin again.” Elaine Daly is well known for her colorful, fluid style using watercolor and acrylic in portraiture, land and seascapes and is a graduate of Mass College of Art where she met her husband Harry. Of her work, Elaine says “The world is made of many colors, shapes and feelings--each is an experience, spontaneous and sensitive--- My art is to capture a moment of beauty and make it a lasting memory.” Harry Daly also attended Massachusetts College of Art, and upon graduation, chose to pursue a career in advertising. Harry is now retired and is able to devote his time to critiquing Elaine’s work, lots of golf and an occasional painting. Harry says “I enjoy painting because it is another way to express my appreciation for the natural beauty that surrounds us.” Joan Colt Hooper is interested in spaces through values and shapes and colors. Most of her themes have to do with the sea. Joan says “I have always lived by the water; heard and felt the roll of the ocean, the lap of the waves, and the sound of the storms. I enjoy painting scenes with lighthouses, birds and flowers. It is the calmness and serenity that is most appealing to me.”
