Headers Shine at NEC Track Meet
Marblehead High School's girls' and boys' track teams finished 3rd and 2nd at the conference track and field championships at Manning Field in Lynn Saturday.
Marblehead High School track athletes competed in the Northeast Conference League Meet Saturday afternoon in Lynn and made their coaches proud. The girls' team finished third overall and the boys' team finished second.
GIRLS TEAM PLACES THIRD
Marblehead High School's girls' track team finished in third place at the meet with 92 total points.

Olivia Pennock finished sixth in the 100-meter dash, finishing with a time of 13.88 seconds.
Emma McGuirk won the girls' 200-meter dash with a time 26.56 seconds. Coming in behind her was Cailin Daley, who finished fifth with a time of 28.06 seconds.

In the one-mile run, Madeline Piela and Lillie Johnston finished fourth and fifth, registering times of 5:37 and 5:45 respectively.
Maura Tubridy finished sixth in the 400-meter dash with a time of 63.21 seconds and teammate Cecelia Moran finished the same race in 16th, with a time of 69.67 seconds.
In the two-mile, Mary Kauffman finished in second place with a time of 12:24 and not far behind was Alex Gerard, who finished in fifth place with a time of 12:43.
Paige Ferrucci and Gretchen Rowe came in third and fourth place in the 800 meter dash, with times of 2:29 and 2:30.
In the 100-meter hurdles, Bronte Price finished seventh with a time of 18.14 seconds and Steph Lundgren finished in ninth place with a time of 18.89 seconds.
Chloe Heskett was the first Marblehead runner to cross the finish line in the 400 meter hurdles, finishing with a time of 72.11 seconds. Behind her was Kelly Roland, who ran the same event in 76.26 seconds and finished in ninth place.
The girl's 4 x 100-meter relay finished in second place with a time of 51.84 seconds. The 4 x 400-meter relay placed third with a time of 4:18.78 and the 4 x 800-meter relay finished in third with a time of 10:26.80.
Kelly Roland took third place in the high jump, clearing a height of 4' 10" and Cailin Daley finished seventh in the long jump by jumping 14" 8'. Maggie Forbes jumped 14' 2" in the same event an finished 11th.
Emma McGuirk earned a second place finish in the girls' triple jump after clearing 33' 11", her teammate, Monica Thorne, finished fourth with a jump of 31' 11".
In the girls' shot put, Gabby Camick and Brenna Sundlie finished 12th and 13th, with throws of 25' 6" and 25' respectively.
In the girls' discus, Abby Nye finished 11th, with a throw of 59' 4" and Emilie Flores came in 14th with a throw of 57' 9".
Mimi Gotez won the girls' javelin throw, registering a winning distance of 95' 7". Her teammate, Kelly Roland, came in 14th place with a toss of 59' 8".
BOYS TEAM TAKES SECOND:
The boys' track team finished in second place at the meet after earning a total of 87 points.
In the 100-meter dash, Josh Freedland and Connor Cataldo finished in sixth and seventh place with times of 12.08 seconds and 12.12 seconds. In the 200-meter dash, Tyree Williams took sixth place with a finish of 24.54 seconds.
Will Herlihy won the boys' 400-meter dash with a time of 52.97 seconds and coming in behind him was Greg Worth, who finished ninth with a time of 55 seconds.
Nate Fowler finished sixth in the one-mile, with a time of 4:51 and Henry Pratt wasn't far behind, finishing in ninth place with a time of 4:57. In the two-mile, James Wiggelsworth and Ethan Levine finished sixth and seventh with times of 10:38 and 10:48.
Chris Neumann took third place in the 800-meter race with a time of 2:05 and his teammate, Mike Harper, finished in sixth with a time of 2:07.
In the 110-meter hurdles, Nolan Raimo took second place with a time of 15.58 seconds.
Jake Smith finished third in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 60.43 seconds. Coming in behind him was Conrad Rousseau, who finished in tenth place with a time of 64.92 seconds.
The boys' 4 x 100-meter relay finished in third place with a time of 46.28 seconds; the 4 x 400-meter relay came in fourth with a time of 3:45.07; and the 4 x 800-meter relay won the event with a time of 8:41.55.
Billy Graves came in second in the high jump, clearing a height of 6' 2" and his teammate, Chris Neumann, grabbed ninth place by clearing 5"4'. Nolan Raimo won the boys' long jump by clearing a distance of 21' 4". Conrad Rousseau finished in sixth in the same event with a distance of 18' 2".
In the triple jump, Josh Beloff finished in fourth place with a jump of 40' 8" and Will Herlihy came in 15th with a jump of 34'.
Jake Morris came in sixth place in the boys' shot put with a toss of 39' 11" and his teammate, Josh Freedland earned a ninth place finish with a throw of 38' 4". In the discus, Danny Plunkett came in third place with a throw of 140' 8" and Joel Katz came in 11th with a throw of 100' 9".
Greg Worth came in fifth in the javelin, with a throw of 140' 10" and Cristian Flores finished 10th with a throw of 195' 5".
