Hit-and-Run Driver Causes Power Outage

At 2:38 p.m., police responded to Buena Vista Road about a woman walking in the rain and “totally out of it.” Police spoke to the woman who was fine.

At 5:40 p.m. police received a call from Jane Street about a young male walking from a backyard and run up the street.

At 6:11 p.m., police responded to Churchill Road about a power outage. A vehicle struck a pole and the driver left the area. A resident said he heard a loud bang and saw the car leave the area. Another resident reported that he saw a red Prius with a lot of bumper stickers drive from Salem into Marblehead shortly before the accident and he thought it might be the car. He said an elderly driver seemed to be having difficulty driving the car.

At 10:06 p.m., police responded to Lighthouse Lane about a car driving erratically with three or four young males. The caller said the vehicle wasn’t allowing vehicles to leave Chandler Hovey Park and was driving toward other vehicles like it was going to hit them.
