Hydrant Flushing Underway in Marblehead
Check out the schedule for the hydrant flushing in town and be aware that you may see some discolored water.

The Marblehead Water Department commenced hydrant flushing overnight Sunday, May 17.
The work will continue for several nights from about 11 p.m.-7 a.m. each night, according to the Marblehead Police Department.
While the schedule could change, the work is expected to progress through the following locations:

- Tedesco Street, Humphrey Street, and Lafayette Street area;
- Atlantic Avenue and West Shore Drive area;
- Naugus Head, Beacon Street, the Historic District, and the Business District;
- the Neck
“It is possible that some areas may experience discolored water early in the morning,” according to a post on the Marblehead PD Facebook page. “If you should encounter this, please run the cold water in your sink until the water runs clear. This may take several minutes. Please refrain from using the hot water or doing laundry until the discoloration is gone.”
