Jim Trick and Christopher Williams at the me and thee on October 9

Marbleheader JIm Trick returns to the me and thee stage along with his good friend and former Marbleheader, Christopher Williams

On Friday, October 9, Marblehead’s own Jim Trick will be joining musical forces with his friend (and formerMarbleheader), Christopher Williams on the stage at the me&thee. Jim will be singing a selection of brand new and familiar songsand breaking down the “fourth wall” between performer and audience as he always does. Christopher Williams, who now resides in Nashville, will be adding his songs, stories and musical talent to the evening. Doors open at 7:30 PM for this 8:00 PM show at the me&thee coffeehouse which is located at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Marblehead at 28 Mugford Street.

Jim Trick is a performing songwriter, speaker and life coach. Musically his version of modern folk is mixed with alt-country and thoughtful pop. Grandfather Rock from WCWP 88.1 FM Brooklyn says “One of the brightest songwriters and storytellers coming out of the northeast these days is a man named JimTrick. With the ability to draw an audience into his world, Jim is a brilliant communicator who is definitely worth the effort to go see.” Jim’s most recent album, Further From the Tree, was produced by Michael Pritzl of The Violet Burning and was completely fan funded in under four weeks using what Jim referred to as a “Trick-Starter.” He is regular at venues like Club Passim, Berklee’s Cafe 939 and the New Moon Coffeehouse, Trick has shared the stage with the likes of Ellis Paul, Brooks Williams, and Susan Werner. He’s been a featured speaker at Berklee College of Music and has inspired student musicians. As a touring member of Banding People Together, Jim also travels the world using music and behavioral science to help companies create collaborative strategies and improve leadership.

Christopher Williams offers the listener honest and engaging songs that seem to have a way of creeping into one’s heart and soul. He performs with passion and an incredible sense of humor that makes everyone feel at home. With “lush guitar work, and sweet soaring vocals” (Boston Phoenix) punctuated by the percussive vulnerability of a single African djembe hand drum, Williams is hard-touring singer-songwriter and a master at spreading his personal energy out into a live audience. Christopher has been touring nationally for the last fifteen years. He’s built a faithful following of fans across the country and is a true independent artist. He releases his music on his own label. Williams is a social justice advocate and supports Blood-Water Mission, a grassroots organization that empowers communities to work together against the HIV / AIDS and water crises in Africa. His album, Sweet Redemption, is a collection of songs about his trips to Kenya and Uganda. His latest CD, The City is the Man, is a new fan favorite and his live CD recorded at Club Passim in Harvard Square is a welcome addition to Williams’ discography. An evening with Jim Trick and Christopher Williams will be most memorable.
