Marblehead Wind Storm Leaves Downtown Powerless
No injuries were reported, but about a fifth of homes and businesses affected were without power late into the night.

MARBLEHEAD, MA - No one has to tell Marblehead about the wind advisory in effect in Massachusetts.
Power was knocked out for much of downtown early Wednesday evening when heavy wind gusts knocked down telephone poles with wires and tree branches. Police said at 9 p.m. that 80 percent of the homes and businesses without power had it restored, but crews would be working through the night for the rest.
No one was injured, the Marblehead Municipal Light Department said. The majority of the damage took place around Elm and Mugford streets. Traffic was detoured at Mugford and High streets.
