License Awarded to Haley's Market Cafe

The future co-owner of Haley's Market Cafe was awarded a common victualler's license Wednesday night.

The Board of Selectmen unanimously approved awarding a common victualler's license to Haley's Wine & Spirits co-owner Julie Vinette at Abbot Hall Wednesday night, paving the way for a new cafe in downtown Marblehead.

Vinette told board members she plans on reopening the space formerly occupied by The Rockhopper Cafe on Washington Street under a new name - Haley's Market Cafe.

"We're going to be doing a little bit more complicated food," Vinette said Wednesday night. "We'll certainly be doing breakfast, lunch and a dinner a couple of nights a week."

In addition to new state-of-the-art lights and Wi-Fi, Vinette told board members that "there will be a lot more seating in the cafe side than there was before."
