Local All-Stars Shine at Bay State Championship
The 10-year-old All Stars were winners at the Bay State Tournament of Champions.

The Marblehead 10 Year Old All-Stars completed a busy and exciting week of baseball on Sunday by winning their Round 1 Trophy Weekend Championship Game in the Bay State Tournament of Champions, which was held in Sudbury.
To qualify for the trophy round, Marblehead pulled out a clutch come from behind win against Andover on Wednesday night behind a strong pitching performance by Kyle Saulnier, and defeated an enthusiastic Sudbury team on Thursday evening to clinch a spot in the Trophy Weekend.

On Saturday, Marblehead defeated top seeded and previously undefeated Reading All-Stars 13-6.
Sebastian Fisichelli and Ben Brennan led Marblehead by each pitching three strong innings and providing timely hits. Marblehead also got strong hitting contributions from Jackson Klein, Jack Bentley, Saulnier, Dahlia Galante, and Daniel Kasten.

On Sunday, Marblehead again faced Andover in the Championship game and won 10-0. Klein pitched 5 strong innings and Emmet Janney came in for the final inning to close the game out and secure the shutout win.
Great offense was provided once again by Sean McCarthy, Bentley, Brennan, Fisichelli, TJ Zagarri and Janney, all of whom helped provide solid hitting and tenacious base running all game long.
Additionally, rock solid defense up the middle was provided throughout the weekend, as it has been all summer long, by Zagarri, Eric Gonzalez, McCarthy, Bentley and Brennan.
By winning the Round 1 Championship, Marblehead has secured a spot in the upper level of Round 2, which begins the weekend of July 21st, and will try to qualify for the Final Tournament of Champions in August.
The team has been well coached all summer long by Manager Jac Bentley and Coaches Kevin Brennan and Ron Zagarri.
