MHS Football Ready for Salem
Marblehead High School's football team travels to Bertram Field tonight to take on Salem, looking to improve to 2-0 in league play.

's varsity football team will be in Salem tonight trying to move to 2-0 in league play after last week’s win over Gloucester.
“The Gloucester win was good, but that’s in the past, we’re focused on Salem now,” coach Jim Rudloff said from his office Thursday afternoon. “They love to blitz against us so we’ve got to watch out for that and try to establish our running game early.”
Salem and Swampscott were knotted up at 7-7 before the Big Blue scored three straight touchdowns to win 28-7 last Friday in Salem.

Rudloff said the team had a “spirited” week of practice, a perfect way to get ready for a Halloween weekend game against the Witches.
“The kids are excited to play Salem, we had a tough loss against them at home last year, and the upperclassmen are especially looking forward to Friday’s game,” Rudloff said. “Salem has some good young receivers and we’ve got to keep them in check, we don’t want to give up big yards in the air."
