Man Stalks Girls, Hit-and-Run, IRS Scams: Marblehead Police Log

Latest Marblehead police log: a group of girls said they were stalking by a strange man, hit-and-run, and more IRS scams.

MARBLEHEAD, MA — The following are excerpts from the Marblehead police log. Suspects are innocent unless convicted.

Fri., May 20

  • 10:54 a.m. A caller said a driver struck her vehicle on Maple Street then took off on foot.
  • 11:22 a.m. IRS scam reported on Robert Road.
  • 11:25 a.m. IRS scam reported on Stone Terrace.
  • 11:49 a.m. A caller said a person dressed in pink was driving a scooter dangerously in the area of Turner Road, passing multiple vehicles.
  • 1:10 p.m. IRS scam reported on Elm Street.
  • 1:53 p.m. IRS scam reported on Humphrey Street.
  • 2:27 p.m. IRS scam reported on Kenneth Road.
  • 9:25 p.m. A group of girls said a strange man followed them on Elm Street; they said they rain to the 7-Eleven, at which point the man disappeared.

  • 8:03 a.m. A woman on Elm Street said another woman was harassing her by taking pictures of her and her garden for "months."
  • 8:41 a.m. A needle was found on West Street.
  • 10:29 a.m. A woman on Franklin Street said her daughter got locked in the bathroom, which doesn't have a door knob.
  • 7:21 p.m. A caller on Ocean Avenue said she saw a green Volvo strike a stop sign then flee the area.
  • 8:54 p.m. James Rooney, 38, of Danvers, was arrested on multiple warrants following a traffic stop on Pleasant Street.
