Marblehead Arts Association To Host Jazz At The Arts Concert Series
The Yoko Miwa Trio will play the event set for the Hooper Mansion on March 16.

MARBLEHEAD, MA — Jazz pianist star Yoko Miwa will perform with her ensemble The Yoko Miwa Trio as part of the Marblehead Arts Association's Jazz at the Arts concert series next week.
The March 16 concert will be held in the third-floor ballroom at the King Hooper Mansion. Attendees are invited to listen to the Yoko Miwa Trio while taking in a night of artwork on display amid the ambiance of the historic ballroom.
Miwa plays piano in the ensemble that also includes acoustic bassist Brad Barrett and drummer Scott Goulding.

Miwa has gained international acclaim and was named a Rising Star Pianist in the 2022 DownBeat Critics poll. Her 2021 release "Songs of Joy" reached No. 1 on the national jazz radio charts and was voted one of the best jazz albums of the year in DownBeat's 86th annual readers poll.
She is a classically trained artist from Japan who attended the Berklee College of Music on a scholarship in 1997 and has remained at the school three decades later as a professor in the school's piano department.

The show begins at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $35 for the event which will include a cash bar, snacks available and a 15-minute intermission.
