Marblehead Assistant Superintendent Search Draws 26 Applicants
Superintendent John Buckey outlined the next steps to select a new assistant superintendent and new Marblehead High principal.

MARBLEHEAD, MA — Two Marblehead screening committees will begin going through the applications this week of a combined 34 candidates for openings as the assistant superintendent and high school principal.
Marblehead Superintendent John Buckey told the School Committee that the screening committee for the assistant superintendent position will have its first meeting on Monday and begin narrowing down the 26 applicants to a list of semifinalists on March 15.
The plan is to then do interviews and select finalists.

Buckey said a separate screening committee spent last week and will spend this week determining semifinalists out of eight applicants for public interviews for the MHS principal position. At that point, the committee will either select finalists or choose to reopen and continue the search.
The positions were opened after current Marblehead High Principal Dan Bauer was chosen as the next Danvers superintendent in January. The district has also posted the opening for an assistant superintendent of teaching and learning after Nan Murphy was selected to be the next Dedham superintendent.
