Marblehead Bike Bandit Steals New Ones, Leaves Junkers: Police

MARBLEHEAD, MA — A bicycle bandit is on the loose in Marblehead—stealing new bikes and leaving old ones in their place, police said.

"Over the last week, several bicycle owners have been saddened and angered to find their unlocked bikes stolen from their yards and garages," Marblehead police said in a statement. "However, the culprit(s) are kind enough to leave a bike of lesser value behind so as not to leave the bike owner without transportation—how thoughtful!"

Police asked residents to be vigilant and report any suspicious activity.

"Please keep your bikes locked up when not in use," police reminded residents.
