The Marblehead Chamber is hiring an executive director to replace Deb Payson, who announced she is stepping down at the end of the month.
“Deb has been an asset to us all and has helped to inspire the Chamber and our business community. While we are sorry to see her go, we are fortunate to have benefited from her leadership,” said George Barbuzzi, president of the chamber’s board of directors, in a statement on the chamber’s site. “The chamber will build upon the leadership of Deb as we continue to advance our mission to support and enhance the business community.”

The chamber’s executive director is tasked with “coordination of the program of work; organizational structure and procedures; motivation of volunteers; income and expenses; maintenance of membership; employment, training, and supervision of staff; interpretation of policy; maintenance of headquarters; long range planning, communications programs and liaison with a variety of constituents, according to the job description.
