
June 27, 2013 – Marblehead, MA – From August 8 to August 11, 2013, the Marblehead Chamber of Commerce will be celebrating Marblehead’s maritime heritage by presenting the second annual Marblehead Maritime Festival. The Festival has an exciting line-up of maritime festivities including a garden party, two days of classic yacht racing, sailing aboard the Schooner Ardelle, maritime exhibits, historic tours, bags tournament, live entertainment, kayaking, a treasure hunt and many family friendly activities.
Thousands of sailors, boat owners and other maritime enthusiasts not just from Marblehead, but from all over the Northeast, as well as participants in yachting events occurring that week will be in town to enjoy the Festival. A trolley will be picking up and dropping off at the Marblehead High School (2 Humphrey Street, Marblehead, MA 01945) throughout the weekend.

Thursday, August 8, 6pm – 8pm
· Marblehead Museum invites you to celebrate summer at this historic mansion built in 1768 by Marblehead’s worldly merchant and ship owner, Jeremiah Lee. Dress in festive garb and enjoy live music, food, and a cash bar at this unique venue. For tickets: www.MarbleheadMuseum.org
Friday, August 9, 10am – 5pm
· View beautiful vintage boats of all sizes in Marblehead Harbor for the Corinthian Classic Yacht Regatta. For more information visit: www.CorinthianClassic.org
Saturday, August 10, 10am – 5pm
· Explore Maritime Exhibits, Artisan Vendors, and Activities Galore. Including everything from boat builders to artists, these exhibits and activities will be located at the State Street Landing and Little Harbor. Live music and entertainment, beer and food vendors, harbor tours, paddle boarding, kayaking, and many family activities will be ongoing all weekend; experience the glory of Marblehead. Enjoy a maritime history walking tour and a treasure hunt to keep the entire family busy throughout the town!
· Sail aboard the Schooner ARDELLE, an authentic, indigenous, traditionally built Cape Ann vessel that hails from Gloucester, MA. Tour the ship, go for a sail, or both! For more information: www.SchoonerArdelle.com
Sunday, August 11, 11am – 4pm
· Experience the Festival Fun For All at Fort Sewall. Relax at Fort Sewall while you watch the classic yachts under sail returning to the harbor from their final competition. A beer truck and food vendors will be on-site as you enjoy a rousing “Bags” tournament. Take in some history as you tour the site while learning about Marbleheaders at sea. Fun for all is guaranteed
