Marblehead CVS Now Accepts WIC For Infant Formula Purchases
State lawmakers joined CVS staff at the Atlantic Avenue store to mark new WIC access for local formula purchases.

MARBLEHEAD, MA — State Sen. Brendan Crighton and State Rep. Jennifer Armini visited the CVS Pharmacy on Atlantic Ave. in Marblehead to mark the store's recent enrollment in the WIC program.
The store is now authorized to accept the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children, known as WIC, for infant formula purchases.
The change adds another local shopping option for North Shore families enrolled in the program who need infant formula. Both Crighton and Armini worked to help secure the store's WIC authorization.

WIC is a federally funded nutrition program that provides eligible pregnant individuals, new parents, infants and young children with access to nutritious foods, nutrition education, breastfeeding support and health care referrals.
"Expanding WIC authorization allows more families to access infant formula close to home," Crighton said. "Thank you to our partners at CVS for making sure that infant formula can be purchased with WIC."

Armini said the new access is important for families who depend on the program.
"I can think of nothing more important than feeding infants and children," she said. "Providing local access to vital baby formula is a no-brainer, and I am grateful to CVS for working with Senator Crighton and me to make it available to families who rely on WIC."
CVS said the Marblehead authorization is part of its effort to provide customers with access to health and wellness products and services in the communities it serves.
Tim Dolan, interim vice president of consumer health care for CVS Health, said the added authorization gives local families another place to use their benefits.
"Families enrolled in WIC should have convenient options for accessing the nutrition products they need," Dolan said. "Bringing WIC-authorized infant formula to our Marblehead store expands where local families can use their benefits."
