Marblehead Elm Street Drainage Work To Begin In 2 Weeks

Area residents should expect traffic delays, dust and noise during work hours on this project, which will take about two months.

MARBLEHEAD, MA — Residents in the Elm Street area of Marblehead should expect some disruption starting in a couple of weeks as crews work to improve drainage in the neighborhood.

The Marblehead Department of Public Works said N. Granese & Sons, Inc. will begin the two-month project on or about Nov. 29 to replace approximately 130 feet of drainage main on Elm Street and connect that to a recently installed system on Elm Street near Evans Road.

The project also includes the installation of new catch basins, sidewalk and curb improvements, and replacing a sewer and drain main between Roosevelt Avenue and Evans Road. The Elm Steet work will be done first before the contractor moves to Roosevelt Avenue.
