Marblehead Festival of Arts Issues Call for Entries

Artists working in sculpture, painting, crafts, photography and other forms are invited to submit their works.

The Marblehead Festival of Arts is calling on local artists to submit their best works for this year’s festival.

“Our exhibits are one of the most popular parts of the festival,” said Chair of Exhibits Maggie Smist. “It is exciting to see the work of so many talented artists from throughout Essex County.”

Artists are invited to submit drawings, paintings, crafts, printmaking, photography, sculpture and mixed media works.

There are special categories for senior art as well as youth and student art, according to a press release.

The Marblehead Festival of Arts now has more than 800 entries, the press release reads. Thousands of visitors will view the works throughout the four-day event and works in each category will be juried with numerous prizes and awards handed out.

Artists can drop off entries on Saturday, May 16 from 9 a.m.-noon and Thursday, May 21 from 6- 8 p.m. There is a $10 fee for all entries except for youth and student entries.
