MARBLEHEAD, MA — Marblehead is ready to get social.

The town launched new Facebook, Twitter and Instagram accounts this week in an attempt to connect residents with more information about town activities.

Unlike many surrounding North Shore communities, which boast social media for many departments, such as town hall, town clerk and public schools, Marblehead's offerings on social media had been relatively sparse — with most information posted on the town's website.

But that should change starting this week with the new Facebook page, Twitter feed and Instagram feed.
