A Marblehead man who provided private and group hockey lessons is charged with repeatedly assaulting the boy over a period of months.

MARBLEHEAD, MA – A Marblehead man and area youth hockey coach has been indicted for raping and assaulting a 9-year-old boy over a period of four months, the Essex District Attorney's office said. Christopher Prew, 31, has been charged with aggravated rape of a child and four counts of indecent assault and battery on a child under 14.
Marblehead police began investigating Prew after the boy told his mother of the alleged assaults, officials said. Prew is accused of indecently assaulting and orally raping the boy on various dates between Sept. 1 and Jan. 31.
Prew provided private and group hockey coaching sessions in the area but is not affiliated with the Marblehead Youth Hockey Association, according to the Essex District Attorney's office.
