Marblehead To Host Pride Progress Flag-Raising Ceremony On Sunday
The event, which will include adult and youth speakers, is set for 3 p.m. at Abbot Hall.
MARBLEHEAD, MA — Marblehead will celebrate the contributions of its lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer students and residents at a Pride flag-raising ceremony on Sunday.
The event is planned for 3 p.m. at Abbot Hall and is meant to also advocate for civil rights and justice for LGBTQ people around the world.
"We are proud that the MPS learning community includes many LGBTQ students, parents, and staff, and look forward to celebrating them and learning more about the history of the LGBTQ community in the month ahead," Marblehead Superintendent John Buckey said in the weekly district newsletter.

The town will raise the Pride Progress flag at the event which will include adult and youth speakers. Those attending will have the opportunity to purchase their own flag as well.
The town and its volunteer Pride Committee will host the event which is free and open to the public.
