Massachusetts Walk and Bike to School Day, launched in 2010, is celebrated on the first Wednesday of May which helps to kick off National Bike Month. This year’s event also coincides with National Bike to School Day.

“It’s great to see so many community members, parents, school officials, and students choosing green modes of transportation during Massachusetts Walk and Bike to School Day and throughout the school year,” said Governor Charlie Baker in an announcement. “I want to remind all of our bicyclists, pedestrians, and drivers to be safe and courteous to others regardless of which transportation mode you choose.”
