Marblehead Lacrosse Pounds Peabody

boys' lacrosse team found no trouble finding the back of the net Monday afternoon as they rolled to a convincing 14-8 win over Peabody at home.

It was a physical game from start to finish and although Peabody jumped out to an early 2-1 lead in the first ten minutes, once Marblehead got their offensive wheels spinning they never looked back.

After going down early, the Headers relied on their offensive firepower and scored eight of the game's next ten goals to bring a comfortable 11-4 lead into end of the third quarter.

Despite the large deficit, Peabody's players never gave up and scraped together a few goals to close the lead to 13-7 halfway through the fourth quarter. It was then that the Headers put it in cruise control and used ball control to run out the clock, ending the game 14-8.

The Headers (6-1) will travel to Beverly on Thursday. The game is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m.
