Marblehead Little Theatre to host one night performance of "The Guys"

"The Guys" follows two people in the immediate aftermath of 9/11.

Fifteen years after 9/11, Marblehead Little Theatre will pay tribute to first responders and all lives lost that day by hosting a production of Anne Nelson’s play, "The Guys." It will be playing on Friday, Sept. 24 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets, $25, are available at mltlive.org or at the door. "The Guys" is a two-person drama that follows a fire captain, Nick, and an editor, Joan, just days after the attack. Nick calls Joan to help him write eulogies to present at his firefighters' memorial services. Nick and Joan spend a long afternoon together, recalling the fallen men through recounting their virtues and their foibles. In the process, Nick and Joan discover the possibilities of friendship in each other and their shared love for the unconquerable spirit of the city. This show was brought to MLT by Marblehead High School graduate Virginia Wolf, a.k.a. Ginny Doty, who produced it in Collinsville, Connecticut. The production is directed by Laura Garger.
