Marblehead Middle School Fire Causes Minimal Damage

Two classrooms were moved on Friday because of smoke from the fire in an outdoor storage unit.

MARBLEHEAD, MA — A small fire in an outdoor storage unit caused some disruption at Marblehead Veterans Middle School on Friday.

Superintendent John Buckey and Veterans Principal Matt Fox told families late Thursday night that two classrooms would be moved on Friday out of an abundance of caution after smoke made its way into them.

Marblehead fire said a custodian in the building reported the seeing and smelling smoke shortly after 9 p.m. They arrived to find light smoke in the area of the D Wing of the building and found the source of the fire in a closet that is only accessible from the exterior.
