Marblehead Nomination Papers Available For Annual Town Election

Nomination papers for all town elected offices will be available on Monday and are due May 1 for the June 20 annual town election.

MARBLEHEAD, MA —Those wishing to run for elected office in Marblehead in the annual town election this spring can obtain their nomination papers starting on Monday.

The nomination paper request form is available here and also at the town clerk's office.

Those seeking to be on the ballot must get 50 registered from registered Marblehead voters and return the form no later than 5 p.m. on May 1 for the June 20 town election. Candidates are advised to get more than 50 signatures in case some are deemed ineligible.

Those submitting them at or near the May 1 deadline are advised to include extra signatures because there will not be an opportunity to get more if any are discounted.

Those who need additional nomination papers can photocopy them, but they must be copied on a legal-sized (11x17) document.

All candidates are required to file three campaign finance reports even if they spend their own money or did not raise or spend money during the campaign.

Campaign finance reports are due regardless of the outcome of the election on June 11, July 20, and on Jan. 20 for the end-of-the-year report.

Elected offices in Marblehead are for a one-year term.
