Marblehead Police Log: Whales Making Waves

MARBLEHEAD, MA — The following are excerpts from Wednesday's Marblehead Police log. Some instances had to do with these endangered Right Whales.

8:07 a.m. - An officer had to settle a parking dispute on Lafayette Street.

8:56 a.m. - Kayakers were reported to have been almost on top of the Right Whales off Goldthwait Beach.

9:36 a.m. - Someone on Kimball Street called to ask about an ordinance regarding leaf blowers, which had been blowing near her home for two hours.

11:25 a.m. - Police investigated the graffiti behind on the concrete pipes on the Rail Road right of way next to the Electric Light Substation.

11:42 a.m. - Someone said he was woken up by a trash truck laying on his horn and made him move his car despite being parked legally.

11:55 a.m. - Someone on West Shore Driver said someone was disposing of lawn trimmings in the parking lot.

3:11 p.m. - Someone said about 15 vehicles stopped along the causeway to observe the whales. Police went on foot to tell people to move because it was a traffic hazard.
