Marblehead Police Warn Residents Of Fund-Raising Scam
Police remind residents they do not use outside sources to solicit funds for department events and causes.
MARBLEHEAD, MA — Marblehead police are reminding residents not to respond to outside groups claiming they are raising money for town department events or causes.
Marblehead police said they do not use third parties to solicit funds for them and that if someone calls saying that they are raising money on Marblehead police's behalf they are not telling the truth.
The warning is in apparent response to residents reporting those types of calls recently.
