Marblehead Public Schools Hires New METCO Director
Caja Johnson is a North Shore CC, Lesley and Endicott alumna who is also the chairperson of the Beverly Human Rights Committee.

MARBLEHEAD, MA — Marblehead Public Schools will welcome a new district METCO director as it welcomes students back from the summer over the next two weeks.
Superintendent John Buckey said on Friday that Beverly Human Rights Committee Chair Caja Johnson "brings a range of experience, in teaching, planning, human rights, community development, and social work" to the district.
"Caja brings to Marblehead Public Schools a proactive, collaborative, leadership style true to her
signature expression: 'Together we can!'" Buckey said.

Johnson earned her associate's degree in drug, alcohol and rehabilitation from North Shore Community College in 2014 and graduated with a bachelor's degree in psychology from Lesley University in 2016.
A mother of two, she is also a volunteer coach and member of the Cultural Council, Racial Equity Task Force and Civil Rights Review Board.

Buckey said Johnson will be formally welcomed to the district during staff professional days and the convocation next week, and will meet with parents and the community during the September "superintendent coffee."
