Marblehead To Raise Juneteenth Flag At Abbot Hall
The flag-raising on June 8 will include family activities, music and a ceremony.
MARBLEHEAD, MA — The Juneteenth flag will fly outside Abbot Hall in Marblehead next week following an afternoon of family activities with music and an official ceremony.
The event will take place on June 8 starting with the Greg Coles Dance & Drum at 4:30 p.m. and speakers leading up to the flag-raising at 5.
Marblehead Select Board Chair Jackie Belf-Becker will provide opening comments followed by an introduction by North Shore Juneteenth Association President Nicole McClain, a poem from Veterans Middle School student Damilola Graciella Olabisi, a presentation by Marblehead High students, a reflection from the Marblehead Racial Justice Team's Nikki Moore and Martina Campbell performing the Black National Anthem.

The North Shore Juneteenth Association, Inc. is organizing the event in conjunction with Marblehead's Racial Justice Against Discrimination.
