We asked Patch readers what they thought the biggest safety issues were in their town. Here’s a list of the most pressing problems, from break-ins to traffic jams:
- "Driving too fast in congested areas. Not stopping to let people cross and when people do stop, others try to drive around them."
- "The sidewalks are a major issue! And people text while driving so it is scary to push a stroller or ride a bike..."
- "Texting. Everyone, everywhere. Also, just a general attitude of "my life is more important than yours""
- "The sidewalks and cross walks need to be better. I have to constantly go on the street with our stroller."
- "Driving too fast, texting while driving, not stopping at stop signs and not stopping for people in crosswalks"
- "Intersection b/w Pleasant St, Village St and Vine, especially during school drop off hours"
- "Kids riding bikes and not wearing helmets"
- "Atlantic Avenue"
- "Entitlement"
- "The intersection by Village Street, Veterans School and Pleasant. The town had an opportunity to fix it by purchasing the old gas station and it was voted down. It's time to revisit that plan before someone gets hurt."
