Marblehead School of Ballet to Launch Barre Fitness Class
Adults and teenagers, prepare for spring in Marblehead School of Ballet's new Barre Fitness class with Christine DelSavo.

new fitness class. The Barre Fitness class, a new addition to the school's curriculum, is open to adults and teenagers. The class begins Monday, March 5 at 6:30 p.m. at the studio, located at 115 Pleasant Street, in Marblehead, Massachusetts.
Barre Offers Fitness Benefits
Barre fitness, a ballet based workout, offers endless benefits to the body. "This exercise improves posture and increases flexibility. Every muscle group is targeted. This is just about the best core workout you can get. Barre is also a pretty low impact workout, so absolutely anyone can do it," said Christine DeSalvo, MSB's new Barre fitness instructor.
DeSalvo holds extensive training in Barre and dance. With training from American Barre Technique, she is a certified fitness instructor and continues to take classes regularly to keep up with current training techniques. As a dancer, she trained at the Marblehead School of Ballet for several years, and danced with the North Shore Civic Ballet, Boston Ballet and Ballet Theatre of Boston. DeSalvo received an Associates degree in Business Management from North Shore Community College.
