The Marblehead School of Ballet joins the town of Marblehead in celebrating the arts during Marblehead Art Walk. To mark the occasion, MSB's dancers are modeling local artist Rosanne Azarian's stunning blends of art and textile designs of elegant, wearable fashion, including caftans, scarves, wraps and jackets

on Saturday, May 19 from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. across from the studio, located at 115 Pleasant Street in Marblehead, in front of Marblehead Antiques.

While there, stop and find out more about the benefits of ballet and dance and the school's offerings and classes during its 46th anniversary. Speak with the artist, who has lived, worked, created and presented her art throughout the United States, about the inspiration for her designs. See these dancers model the works of art: Nancy Murphy, Christine De Salvo, Rosemary Grant, Alex Berg, Claire Grant, and Shauna King.

The Marblehead School of Ballet is pleased to join Marblehead Antiques in this arts showcase and have our dancers model artist Rosanne Azarian's designs during the walk," said Artistic Director Paula K. Shiff, recipient of Salem State University's 2009 Lifetime Achievement Award in the Arts.

Rosanne Azarian's Designs

Azarian hand dyes and paints on silk and other natural fibers such as cotton and wool or blends of these fibers. She uses hand carved woodblocks or Japanese Shibori techniques in natural Indigo to create images and designs. Ombre techniques dyeing on silk are incorporated throughout the collection.
