Marblehead State Primary Voting Guide 2016
Voting will be held in Marblehead Thursday for the 2016 state primary; polls are open 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
MARBLEHEAD, MA — The Massachusetts state primary is Thur., Sept. 8 and voting will be held in Marblehead from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. at several polling locations.
Marblehead has six voting precincts. Voting locations are as follows:
- Precinct 1: The Town House
- Precinct 2: The Masonic Temple
- Precinct 3: The Masonic Temple
- Precinct 4: Marblehead Community Center
- Precinct 5: Marblehead Community Center
- Precinct 6: Marblehead Community Center

There are three contested races on Marblehead ballots:
Republican primary for Essex County Sheriff (choose one): Candidates include Kenneth Berg, Jeffrey Gallo, James Jajuga, Craig Lane, and Anne Manning-Marti.

Democratic primary for Essex County Sheriff (choose one): Candidates include William Castro, Kevin Coppinger, Michael Marks, Edward O’Reilly, Jerry Robito, and Paul Russell.
Democratic primary for governor's council (choose one): Candidates include Terrence Kennedy, Stephen Borelli, and Richard DiMeo.
All other major races are unopposed. Democrats, Republicans, Independents, and Green Party voters can also write in their own candidates.
The general election is Nov. 8. Massachusetts voters this year will decide on several ballot measures, including legalizing marijuana and expanding gambling.
